The Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries is Clarkson’s Hudson Valley campus. Located on Dennings Point in Beacon, NY. This state-of-the-art technical facility serves as an introduction to the surrounding park and as a research institute striving to develop more sustainable water solutions that preserve estuaries and other freshwater ecosystems in the state and beyond. Greenway Trail Committee

The Greenway Trail Committee was founded in 2010 to assist with the creation and design of the Fishkill Creek Greenway and Heritage Trail. With the completion of the FCGHT Master Plan in 2013 this committee meets as needed when sections of trail are to be developed and input on other trails is required. Learn More

The Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail is a future linear park, spanning 7.5 walkable, bikeable miles between New York’s Village of Cold Spring and City of Beacon. The Dutchess County Transportation Council (DCTC) is evaluating the feasibility of constructing a 13-mile multi-use rail trail along the MTA’s Beacon Line. Clean filmy clear plastic bags can be recycled at Hudson Valley Brewery, 7 East Main Street, Beacon, NY. There is a black garbage bin to the right of the overhead door in the back of the brewery (white warehouse building).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Plastic must be clear (absolutely no colored or opaque plastic will be accepted)

  • Plastic must be filmy and cannot be crunchy when squeezed

  • Plastic must be clean and free from food or other debris

  • Bubble mailers, cereal bags, freezer bags, PET plastic, colored plastic, soiled plastic will not be accepted!
