- Beacon businesses' "eco-pledge" to have a more sustainable business
- Exploring a city-wide ban of styrofoam and / or plastic bags
- Improve recycling in city schools
- Tree-planting initiatives
- Trash cleanups
- Beacon becoming a Climate Smart Community
